Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a directory where I can get Goldkeim flour? #
No, and there won’t be one. Food security is first and foremost a regional necessity; without food, things quickly become uncomfortable. Either people organize themselves or they don’t. The directness of this statement may be alienating, but it is simply a fact. Food security is not a matter of course, it never was, and it is not currently.

Where can I get Goldkeim flour? #
When you see the Goldkeim logo, it’s simple. Then the Goldkeim cooperation partner guarantees you legally! that it is flour according to Goldkeim standards. The Goldkeim cooperation agreement is a legally binding contract. Whoever produces or processes it must provide you with information about the origin of the grain, the cultivation method, and the date of milling upon request. The same applies if you buy it in processed form as bread, pasta, pizza, cookies, or whatever. If the Goldkeim logo is on it, the Goldkeim flour quality is legally guaranteed.
Where can I get Goldkeim flour if I don’t see a Goldkeim logo? #
If you don’t see a Goldkeim logo, there is still a possibility to get Goldkeim flour. Specifically, anywhere where stone milling is used, i.e., in organic stores, from farmers, and/or friends. Some bakers use freshly milled grain but know nothing about Goldkeim. Just ask and compare the answer with the content of this website. Again: Goldkeim flour is something very simple! One of the best solutions is to have your own grain mill and grain at home. Then you can also share Goldkeim flour and things made from it with friends. Which is something very, very beautiful.
I mill my flour at home in my grain mill, is that Goldkeim flour? #
As long as it is not GMO grain, yes. You have produced Goldkeim flour. Congratulations! & spread the word ;)
Why is there “Goldkeim flour” at all? #
Because very likely no one will voluntarily advertise their flour as having a “killed germ,” being “essence-free,” or “organic – but still dead.” The word & symbol “Goldkeim” serves to differentiate flour.
Why is Goldkeim flour not produced exclusively from organic grains? #
Because there are also people who do not eat organic flour. And Demeter is certainly more organic than standard organic.
My children, my husband, my wife don’t like my “whole grain baking”? #
This is indeed a problem and good advice is… hard! If you buy whole grain flour at the supermarket, it’s understandable to some extent; if you use Goldkeim flour, less so. Many modern flour-based dishes are designed so that all “hurray synapses” in the brain fire at once, and home-baked things (even if only seemingly) cannot compete with that. But when the hype subsides and the world seems to have turned gray, one might perceive a causality between hype and gray. Unfortunately, this is easily missed if you don’t pay attention. Patience, draw attention to it, and above all, no coercion. Sometimes the rejection of the flour used is just a surrogate conflict. You could, very carefully, try to address it ;) <3
